Q1. What is Child Prodigy all about, I don't think I need it?

A. A child prodigy is someone who, at an early age, develops one or more skills at a level far beyond the norm for their age. Child Prodigy leverages this concept by coaching children to develop broader intellectual capacity, lateral thinking abilities, aptitude and leadership skills.
Child Prodigy is an extra-curricular series of workshops focused on developing key life skills including soft skills in children between the ages of 5 to 8 years old. A one stop shop for all your child's extra-curricular needs as we also offer foreign languages (French or Spanish) and music lessons.

Q2: Learning on a Saturday, I don’t think my child will be interested?

A. Child Prodigy workshops are activity based and there’s no writing involved. The workshops are structured such that your child will find learning and development fun. Activity based learning is important because the fun element encourages children to participate while learning subconsciously as they look forward to their weekly sessions.

Q3. How is Child Prodigy different from others offering a similar product?

A. Child Prodigy is different in that it is unique, no one else is offering the combination and nature of some of the activities we cover aimed at developing problem solving and lateral thinking skills as well as mini communication and confidence coaching for young children.

Q4. Why does my child need to develop soft skills at this young age as they will have plenty of time to do so in the future when they need to in order to find a job?

A. That is a good point as there is clear evidence of people who have achieved great success in their chosen career or vocation without Child Prodigy, however when you speak to any of these people today they all say they wished they had this opportunity available to them at a much younger age as it would have made the journey a lot easier and the process more seamless and natural. Secondly, the job market is a lot more competitive than it used to be and employers will continue to be more selective in order to manage resources more efficiently, candidates demonstrating key skill sets will have a greater advantage over the rest of their peers.

Q5. Why do you only go up to 8 years old? What about my 10 year old?

A. We are primarily focused on this age bracket as this phase in a child's development stage is known as the concrete operational phase - a sensitive learning period in a child's life when they lay the foundation on which everything else follows.

Assuming your child joins Child Prodigy at the age of Five, we believe that by the age of Eight, they would have developed the aptitude and habit to maintain and integrate some of the critical aspects of the Child Prodigy curriculum into their daily routines and lifestyles; such as problem solving crosswords / puzzles for brain training, broader vocabulary, interest in playing Chess / Scrabble / Monopoly for leisure, speaking additional foreign languages, general commercial awareness and intellectual curiosity.

Alternatively, depending on the interest and quorum we can run workshops to cover 9+ years old.

Q6. Does Child Prodigy offer extra tuition for Maths, Science or English as I feel that this is important for my child?

A: No, what Child Prodigy offers is the opportunity to coach your child to discover and operate in their true potential by developing confidence, lateral thinking and problem solving abilities. True capability are sometimes masked by timid personality and children are grouped by their perceived capabilities from a young age. Child prodigy is primarily focused on developing your child's skill sets in the following areas: Confidence, Social skills, Communication and Creativity while having fun doing so.

Confidence generally leads to better performance across the board. The workshops are typically run by high caliber private tutors and qualified teachers. Within the communication workshops we cover English grammar and speech. Child Prodigy can be complimentary to your child's extra academic tuition.

Child prodigy fills a gap in the national education curriculum where children could go through the various levels of education from primary to secondary and undergraduate without developing adequate soft skills essential for a successful future. Certain skill sets are essential in all walks of life and Child Prodigy's primary goal and focus is to help your child develop some of these key life skills from an early age. If your child is already in an excellent school the chances are that they are already receiving excellent academic tuition as well as possibly extra private tuition where necessary.
